On September 21, 2018, Crash Data Poland and the Polish Association of Court Experts for Road Accidents conducted a full-scale crash test. The event was held with the participation and at the premises of the Automotive Industry Institute – PIMOT as part of the 4th PSBS SYMPOSIUM “ROAD ACCIDENTS IN THE PRACTICE OF EXPERT WITNESS”.

The purpose of the Crash Test was to validate the data recorded by the EDR during a full-scale crash test under controlled conditions. Toyota Yaris, was equipped with two additional recording systems and an additional passive safety system, including external sensors and a gas bag control module. The above activities were performed to enable the comparison of EDR records with the records of external sensors and recorders.

Crash Data Poland supplied the equipment for data retrieval from the EDR recorder (including tools for displaying driver memory), a Toyota diagnostic system, and was responsible for the integration of additional sensors and modules in the tested vehicle.
